[Frontend Engineer (Lead Level)] FACTORY EC Development Group — Tokyo / Osaka

Role Overview
The FACTORY EC Development Group builds the e-commerce platform for TOYOTA UPGRADE FACTORY, a service that lets customers add genuine Toyota/Lexus options to their vehicles after purchase. As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will drive UI architecture and implementation, and help define the engineering direction of the frontend team.
Responsibilities
- Lead frontend architecture and implementation decisions for the FACTORY EC platform
- Build responsive, accessible, high-performance web UIs using React or Vue
- Define frontend engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Review code and mentor junior and mid-level frontend engineers
- Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product managers
- Drive performance optimisation, SEO, and accessibility improvements
Requirements
- 6+ years of frontend engineering experience, with lead-level responsibility
- Expert-level JavaScript / TypeScript skills
- Deep experience with React or Vue (understanding of state management, SSR, etc.)
- Familiarity with build tooling (Vite, Webpack, etc.)
- Understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO
- Business-level Japanese
Nice to Have
- Experience with Nuxt.js or Next.js
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms or checkout/payment flows
- Design system experience
- English communication skills
