Role Overview

The Common Services Development Group builds shared infrastructure and platform services used by multiple product teams at KINTO Technologies. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will take ownership of key shared components, drive engineering quality, and mentor other engineers across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of shared backend services and APIs
• Define coding standards, architecture patterns, and development processes for the team
• Collaborate with multiple product teams to understand integration needs
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to team members
• Identify and resolve cross-cutting technical concerns (authentication, notifications, etc.)
• Drive improvements in system reliability, observability, and developer experience

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with lead or senior-level responsibility
• Strong backend development skills (Go, Java, Kotlin, Python, or Node.js)
• Experience designing APIs consumed by multiple teams or services
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices
• Experience with AWS and containerised deployments
• Business-level Japanese

Nice to Have

• Experience building shared platform or internal developer tooling
• Familiarity with API gateway, service mesh, or event-driven architectures
• English communication skills
