[SRE] DBRE Group — Tokyo / Osaka / Nagoya / Fukuoka

Role Overview
We are looking for an SRE with a focus on database reliability to join our DBRE Group. You will be responsible for the availability, performance, and scalability of our data infrastructure powering KINTO's mobility services.
Responsibilities
- Ensure reliability and performance of production database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) on AWS
- Define and drive SLOs/SLIs/error budgets for data infrastructure
- Build and maintain automation for database provisioning, backup, and failover
- Investigate and resolve database-related incidents; drive post-mortems
- Work closely with application engineers to optimise query performance and schema design
- Improve observability and alerting for database systems
Requirements
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) in production at scale
- Strong understanding of SRE principles (SLO, SLI, error budget, toil reduction)
- Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, or similar managed database services
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Business-level Japanese
Nice to Have
- Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis, etc.)
- Knowledge of Terraform or other IaC tools
- Experience with distributed tracing and APM tools
- Background in on-call incident management
